What is Pilates?
Pilates draws on six core principles; breath, centre, precision, control, concentration and flow. It is an exercise system that draws the mind and body together. Strength and balance is found in the centre of the body first allowing stabilisation before sending work out to the limbs. It encourages good movement patterns which in turn improve strength and mobility, a reduction in aches and pains and better resilience to bigger faster movements in every day life and other activities.

Pilates is a wonderful movement practice created by Joseph Hubertus Pilates.

Born in 1883 he suffered ill health as a child but quickly found an enthusiasm for fitness after being introduced to gymnastics, body building and martial arts such as Jiu-Jitsu.

Who is Pilates for?
Pilates is suitable for everyone, whatever level you are at. It may be your only exercise keeping you strong and healthy without stiffness, aches and pains. Or it could equally complement your training for your favourite sport, reducing injuries and improving performance.

It is both a rehabilitating exercise regime and a conditioning programme that can assist all wishing to reach their full potential. 

6 Week Introductory Course
WHATS INCLUDED?

A course includes 1 x session per week for a 6 week duration. You will have flexibility to book into either of the 2 x classes per week.

PILATES MEMBERSHIP
WHATS INCLUDED?

This membership includes any of the Pilates classes available on the timetable.
