Welcome

Welcome to the team.

We are excited to get you, or your child started on your/their Jiu Jitsu journey with The Armoury.  Here’s a few things to help you get started.

Keeping up to date.

We use WhatsApp groups relevant to the students age to keep in touch. So, make sure you are part of the relevant group. Don’t worry, you won’t be spammed. If you haven’t been added or want to add someone to the group (Mum/Dad) then please get in touch with Andy.

Booking into classes.

That’s right we are adding a booking system
This change is mainly due to insurance and H&S reasons. However, this will also help us track training and trends etc that can lead to awards and potential class changes.

All students (Both adults and kids) will have to book in for classes.

Please check out the Bookings Guide Here

Keep covered.

When training any combat sport, it’s worth thinking about insurance. As a gym, we are affiliated and covered with the UKBJJA. They also offer individual memberships, which covers a student’s insurance. Your details will be registered with the UKBJJA as a student of a club, and they may get in touch regarding your personal membership. It’s an incredibly cheap option that provides the relevant protection.

Club Rules

– No shoes are to be warn on the mat and shoes must be warn off the mat.

– Listen carefully and quietly to all instructions in or outside the mat.

– Remove all Jewellery.

– Class is for training and not play time, its important to maintain a safe environment.

– Drill the move(s) of the day during class. Drill anything you want during open mats.

– If something hurts or you can’t breathe, tap or say tap, even better do both.

 – If your training partner taps or you think they even might have tapped, then let go and stop immediately

– NO SLAMS. Slams are not permitted in BJJ. Takedowns are to be controlled.

Hygiene

It’s important we keep a safe and clean environment.

Again, No shoes are to be warn on the mat and shoes must be warn off the mat.

All clothing including Gi’s must be washed after every session. Everyone must wash and maintain good hygiene practices including keeping nails clean and suitably trimmed.

The Armoury – Martial Arts & Fitness would love your feedback. Post a review to our profile & support our club.
